NEW DELHI :(GGS TODAY BUREAU) While India has entered Day 20 of its 21-day nationwide lockdown, the total number of confirmed coronavirus cases in the country has risen to 9,240. The death toll has climbed to 331, according to Worldometer. Among states, three have recorded more than 1,000 cases so far — Maharashtra (1,982), Delhi (1,154), and Tamil Nadu (1,075). Meanwhile, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka have witnessed a decline in the number of new cases.
States like Maharashtra, Punjab and Telangana have already announced an extension of the lockdown, even as the central government will decide on a nationwide lockdown extension today.

Coronavirus world update: Globally, 114,257 people have died from the new coronavirus and confirmed infections have topped 1.85 million. So far, over half a million people in the US have been infected by the novel coronavirus, and the death toll in that country has surged past 22,000. UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson, who had been suffering from Covid-19, was discharged from the hospital on Sunday.

Coronavirus in India: ICMR orders more test kits
The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) has placed an order for more kits even after the first set of serological test kits are yet to arrive. ICMR has now given a deadline of May 1 for the same. While an order of 45 more lakh Serological test kits have been placed, 25 lakh more RT PCR kits have been ordered.

Apple Maps will soon display coronavirus testing locationsApple has announced it will soon display coronavirus testing sites directly on its Maps.
Towards this, Apple has launched a portal for hospitals and healthcare providers to register as coronavirus screening locations. The concern team will then review the application and upon approval, the location will appear in Apple Maps.
Apple Maps will be able to show information like the place name, the associated healthcare provider, contact phone number and website, 9To5Mac reported on Sunday.
Coronavirus lockdown: 134 students stranded in Punjab leave for Bhutan
A total of 134 Bhutanese students, who had been stranded in Punjab amid coronavirus curfew, were allowed to leave through a special flight, a government official said on Monday.
"One hundred and thirty four Bhutanese students, who had been stranded in the hostels of Lovely Professional University, Phagwara-Jalandhar, were allowed to leave for Bhutan through a special flight arranged by Bhutanese government," Special Chief Secretary K.B.S. Sidhu, who is in-charge to monitor state-wide coronavirus cases, informed in a tweet.
