Ludhiana : Voting for local civic body elections across Punjab witnessed steady participation on polling day, with approximately 32% voter turnout recorded till 12 noon, according to preliminary data released by election authorities. The polling process, which began early in the morning, has largely remained peaceful across most districts, though isolated incidents of violence have raised concerns.

One of the most serious incidents was reported from Raikot, where a candidate belonging to the Indian National Congress was allegedly attacked during polling hours. The candidate sustained injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.
