Karnal : Farmers’ dharna outside the Karnal mini secretariat against the police lathicharge entered its fourth day on Friday.

Sources in the administration say the talks between the administration and farmers are likely to resume on Friday.

Farmer leaders are adamant on the suspension of IAS officer Ayush Sinha and registration of a case against him, but the administration says no action can be taken without investigating the matter.

BKU president Gurnam Singh Charuni said they had not received any invitation from the district administration, but were ready for talks and wanted the suspension of the IAS officer. He said they had called a meeting of all SKM leaders in Karnal on Saturday to chalk out future course of action.

Meanwhile, there is a heavy security outside and inside the mini secretariat here.

IGP Mamta Singh, Karnal SP Ganga Ram Punia, Panipat SP Shanshank Kumar Sawan, Kaithal SP Lokender Singh and around 20 DSPs are monitoring the situation. Drone cameras are keeping a vigil on the protesting farmers.TNS
