Barat Bandh Live: Traffic was stopped at the Ghazipur border |
New Delhi : Delhi police on Friday closed both National Highway 24-lane routes across the Ghazipur border due to the 'Bhararat Bandh' called by farmers' unions that violated three agricultural laws.
Samyukt Kisan Morcha, a coalition of protesters, issued a call for a bandh.
On Twitter, Delhi Traffic Police said, "Traffic is blocked at Ghazipur Border NH-24 (Both vehicles)."

The other side of the road was opened at the beginning of March 15 with cars. However, the other side from Gaziabad to Delhi has been closed since the start of the farmers' strike.
Delhi police said security arrangements had been made for the band.
Delhi police pro Chinmoy Biswal said there would be a major crackdown on peacekeeping in the national capital.
"There will be adequate security systems in all police districts during the war.
"Roaming workers will roam their area all day and will focus on maintaining peace in busy markets," Biswal said.
The global strike will begin at 6 a.m., and will run until 6 p.m. across the country to celebrate four months of farmers 'concerns at three Delhi borders - Singhu, Ghazipur and Tikri, farmers' leaders said.
Morcha said the band will also be considered at the National Capital.
Thousands of farmers, mostly from the Punjab, Haryana and western Uttar Pradesh, have camped in the Singhu, Tikri and Ghazipur camps demanding the complete abolition of the three farm rules and the official guarantee of limited subsistence to their crops. - PTI
