Ludhiana : On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, a large number of BJP activists, under the supervision of district president Pushpendra Singal, protested against Congress workers, who had entered the local BJP office and had allegedly created a ruckus yesterday despite registering of complaints by the police.
The BJP activists alleged that the police did not stop the Congress protesters from entering the BJP office premises. Today, the police closed every street leading to the Congress headquarters with barricades, openly showing a partial approach. The BJP workers started a sit-in on the road outside the Congress Bhawan and raised slogans against the police who did not take action against the Congress supporters yesterday.
The BJP leaders hung a picture of Capt Amarinder Singh and blackened it with shoe polish. When the police tried to stop the protesters, BJP supporters clashed with the police.
BJP district president Pushpendra Singal alleged that there had been an increase in incidents of robbery, murder and rape in the state but the ruling government had miserably failed on every front. The administration, which has failed to handle the law and order situation, was busy roaming around Congress leaders.
The attack by Congress “goons” at the Ludhiana and Amritsar BJP offices at the same time shows that everything was pre-planned, alleged the BJP leaders.
The BJP district president said the party leaders were neither suppressed nor afraid. No government or party should think that the BJP was weak.
