Etah murder : Woman killed Four including two sons before committing suicide, claims police
AGRA : (TOI) A day after five members of a family were found dead inside their Etah house that was locked from inside, police on Sunday claimed that it was 35-year-old woman who first killed her four family members, including two sons, before committing suicide. The cops, however, are yet to find out the motive behind the gruesome killings. The five individuals, who were residents of Shringar Nagar near Grand Trunk Road around 3 km from Etah Kotwali police station, were all found dead by neighbours at 8am on Saturday after which local police were alerted.Citing the autopsy report, Etah police claimed.

Etah SP-crime Rahul Kumar said, “Our five investigating teams - crime branch, SWAT, surveillance, Kotwali Nagar - are now trying to ascertain the motive behind the gruesome act. Since there was no forced entry or exit from the house and neither any suspicious movement was recorded on CCTV footage, our entire probe is now focused on the five deceased family members. Something happened in the past four-five days which upset the woman.”
Notably, investigators claimed that on Friday night, the woman and her younger sister had conversation over phone with their mother, who lives in Mathura. During the conversation, the woman was absolutely normal. “Prior to the phone call, the elder brother of one of the deceased also came to their house for evening tea. That, too, went normal,” the police said.

An autopsy report accessed by TOI revealed that a poisonous substance was present inside all five bodies, however, the suspected woman's stomach was filled with black sludge-like material with foul smell, while the rest had food in their stomachs along with sulphas. Apart from poison, the woman's father in-law also had multiple superficial injury marks around his neck, while her sister had ligature mark on her neck, which was formed after her death due to possible strangulation, as the woman wanted to be absolutely sure, that her victim was dead.
Similarly, ligature mark was also present on the woman's 10-year-old son, which was formed after his death. In the youngest son's case, the doctors' panel, comprising Dr Rahul Chaturvedi, Dr R N Jindal and Dr Anita, found that the son was smothered to death, with poisonous remains also present in his body.

“The woman suspect killed four members of her family by offering them poisonous substance laced with food. The woman had smothered her one-year-old son, strangulated her sister and struck her father in-law with a hard object in their semi-conscious state to ensure that all were dead. The accused later consumed poisonous substance and slit her left wrist.”
