Ludhiana : (Amrit Sidhu) Three inmates of the Ludhiana Central Jail escaped from the prison early morning on Thursday.
Jail officials said the three inmates, including two undertrial prisoners, scaled the wall of the prison with the help of a rope and jumped outside in the wee hours of Thursday.

4 Undertrials escape from Ludhiana jail
They included Ram Kumar alias Ram Jane of Maharajganj district in Bihar, who was convicted in a loot case. The other two were undertrial prisoners identified as Amit Kumar of Bareilly in Uttar Pradesh and Ravi Kumar alias Vicky, a resident of Ludhiana.
They said a fourth inmate also attempted to flee, but he failed to climb the wall and was caught by the jail staff.
A jail warden had been suspended in this connection, the officials added.
