Dubai : In a significant development in the ongoing Iran-Israel conflict, Iran has firmly rejected a ceasefire proposal put forward by the United States, instead presenting its own set of conditions aimed at ending hostilities. The move signals continued tensions in the region, with no immediate breakthrough in sight.

According to Iranian officials, the US-backed ceasefire plan was “one-sided” and failed to address Tehran’s key concerns, particularly regarding Israeli military actions and long-term security guarantees. Iran’s leadership has maintained that any ceasefire must include strict conditions on Israel’s military operations and assurances that future strikes will not occur.

Tehran’s counter-proposal reportedly calls for an immediate halt to Israeli airstrikes, withdrawal of military assets from contested zones, and international monitoring to ensure compliance from all sides. Iranian authorities have also emphasized the need for recognition of what they describe as “regional security balance” before agreeing to any truce.

Meanwhile, Washington has urged Iran to reconsider its stance, stating that the proposed ceasefire was designed to de-escalate rapidly worsening conditions on the ground. US officials have expressed concern that continued fighting could destabilize the broader Middle East, impacting global energy markets and international security.

Israel, on its part, has not formally accepted either proposal and continues its military operations, citing national security concerns and the need to neutralize threats. Israeli leaders have reiterated that any ceasefire must ensure the dismantling of hostile capabilities targeting the country.

The rejection of the US plan has further complicated diplomatic efforts, with global powers calling for restraint and renewed negotiations. Analysts suggest that Iran’s counter-offer could prolong talks, as both sides appear unwilling to compromise on critical issues.

The ongoing conflict has already led to rising casualties and significant infrastructure damage, raising fears of a broader regional escalation. International organizations have called for humanitarian access and immediate measures to protect civilians caught in the crossfire.

As diplomatic channels remain active, the coming days are expected to be crucial in determining whether a negotiated ceasefire can be achieved or if the conflict will intensify further.
