Bomb Threat Emails Put 10 Schools in Ludhiana on High Alert

Ludhiana ( GGS BUREAU) Authorities in Ludhiana, a major industrial city in Punjab, were placed on high alert after at least ten schools reportedly received bomb threat emails on Tuesday, triggering panic among parents, students, and school staff. Police and security agencies immediately launched a large-scale search operation to ensure the safety of the school premises.

According to officials, the threatening emails warned of possible explosives planted inside the schools. After the emails were discovered by school administrations, the matter was quickly reported to local authorities. Teams from the Punjab Police rushed to the affected schools and began evacuation and search operations.

Students and staff were evacuated from school buildings as a precautionary measure while bomb disposal squads and sniffer dog units inspected classrooms, playgrounds, and other facilities. Police said the response was part of standard security protocols to prevent any potential risk.

Senior officers from the Ludhiana Police stated that the safety of students was the top priority. “As soon as we received information about the threat emails, our teams were deployed to the locations. Thorough searches are being conducted in all the schools that received the messages,” an official said.

Authorities also confirmed that cyber experts have been involved in the investigation to trace the origin of the threatening emails. The cybercrime unit is analyzing digital data to determine where the messages were sent from and whether they were part of a coordinated hoax or a genuine threat.

Police believe that many such threats in recent times have turned out to be hoaxes designed to spread panic. However, officials stressed that every threat must be treated seriously until proven otherwise. Security agencies are following strict procedures to ensure that no potential danger is overlooked.

Parents rushed to school gates after hearing about the threats, leading to tense scenes outside several campuses. School administrations reassured parents that all necessary safety measures were being taken and that students were being kept safe during the inspection process.

Officials from the district administration also urged the public to remain calm and avoid spreading rumors on social media. They said verified information would be shared once the investigation progresses.

Bomb threat emails targeting schools have been reported in several cities across India in recent months, prompting authorities to strengthen cybersecurity monitoring and emergency response mechanisms. Security experts say such threats often aim to disrupt normal activities and create fear, even when no explosives are actually found.

As of now, no suspicious objects have been reported from the schools searched so far. Police investigations are ongoing, and officials hope to identify the sender of the emails soon.

Authorities have assured the public that strict action will be taken against those responsible if the threats are found to be false. Meanwhile, security remains heightened across educational institutions in Ludhiana as a precaution.
