Kesari 2 X Review: Netizens React To Akshay Kumar-R Madhavan’s Courtroom Drama |
After the 2019 film Kesari, Akshay Kumar is back in Kesari Chapter 2. Directed by Karan Singh Tyagi, the film sees the actor alongside R Madhavan, Ananya Panday and others in key roles. The period film takes us back to India’s colonial past and digs deeper into the aftermath of the tragic Jallianwala Bagh massacre. A special screening was held by the makers in Delhi, and now, the first reactions are out.
Some of the initial reactions are full of praise for Akshay Kumar. A tweet shared by a lawyer and politician who watched the film reads, "Watching the screening of #KesariChapter2, halfway through the movie and I didn’t even blink in the first half! INCREDIBLE! Take a bow @akshaykumar. Your finest yet! Thank you @HardeepSPuri Sir for organising this.”
Another viewer heaped praise on both Akshay and R Madhavan’s performances. Taking to X, they wrote, “We’ve all read about Jallianwala Bagh in history books, but nothing prepares you for the truth I witnessed today at the special screening of #Kesari2. I'm short of words for how deeply moved I am. This is content, deserving of a National Award. Brilliant performances by @akshaykumar and @ActorMadhavan. Don’t miss it.”
Criticising the film, a user wrote, “First Review #Kesari2: Old wine in a new bottle ! #AkshayKumar is totally miscast! Mediocre performance by him. #RMadhavan acts well. Strictly film made for High Class multiplexes. Below average production values, Screenplay & Direction. Dharma production is FLOP now.”
Meanwhile, Rana Daggubati took to X and tweeted, “Just watched an incredible historical courtroom drama — Kesari Chapter 2: The Untold Story of Jallianwala Bagh. A powerful, important film that stands tall and stays deep with the Indian in you. This is storytelling that deserves to be seen across languages. We @SureshProdns will do everything we can to bring this cinematic gem to Telugu audiences in the best way in cinemas. A must-watch. And great performances by @akshaykumar @ActorMadhavan @ananyapandayy #KesariChapter2.”
