The meeting took place on Tuesday morning at Kejriwal’s residence, where party legislators gathered at 11.30 am to discuss his successor. Kejriwal is expected to formally submit his resignation at 4.30 pm, clearing the path for the new leader to stake a claim to form the next government.

The party currently holds 60 seats in the 70-member assembly, positioning Atishi to take over leadership in the capital as Kejriwal exits the political stage, at least for now.
