Death toll in Manipur landslide rises to 24, 38 people still missing

New Delhi : The death toll in the Manipur landslide has gone up to 24. Among the deceased 18 are Army personnel and six civilians.

On Friday, 12 bodies were recovered from the rubble of the landslide that occurred in Noney district of Manipur on Wednesday night.

Forty-four people -- 15 soldiers and 29 civilians -- are still missing.

Search operations by the Army, Assam Rifles, Territorial Army, SDRF and NDRF continue at the incident site in Tupul, Manipur.
