Chandigarh : The Ministry of Railways has put out a tweet praising the bravery of one of its employees who saved the life of a man who was lying on the railway track seconds before a train passed by.
The tweet says, “A precious life was saved by the courageous act of help by on-duty staff, who jumped on tracks himself to save a person from getting gravely injured. Indian Railways is proud to have daring & diligent staff like H. Satish Kumar and commends his bravery.”
The incident took place at a railway station in West Bengal where Satish Kumar was showing the green flag to an approaching train when he noticed a man lying on the tracks. He sprinted a fair distance, jumped down the platform, got hold of the man and took him to safety seconds before the train passed them by.
He has received a lot of praise on the Twitter where people have demanded a cash reward for the daring act by the brave man, who went beyond the call of duty to save a life.
