New Delhi : New Delhi police barricaded entry points to Congress party headquarters and also clamped prohibitory orders in the area as party leaders gathered in support of Rahul Gandhi who will appear before the Enforcement Directorate to answer summons in a money laundering case. Leaders are expected to stage a March in solidarity with Rahul with detentions likely. 

Congress has alleged that there was no money laundering in the case and it was a matter of political vendetta and malice.


Rahul will be exonerated from all 'baseless' accusations: Robert Vadra

Rahul Gandhi's brother-in-law Robert Vadra on Monday came out in his support saying he will be exonerated from all "baseless accusations". Vadra also cited his own case and how he was summoned 15 times and has been questioned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED).

In a Facebook post, Vadra, who is married to Priyanka Gandhi, said this government will not be able to suppress the people of the country by such methods of "harassment".


"Rahul, you will be undoubtedly exonerated from all baseless accusations," he said in the post. "I have 15 times been through summons and visits with the Enforcement Directorate and have answered every question and delivered more than 23,000 documents, of my first Rupee earned till date," Vadra said.


Will not succumb to Centre's tactics: Congress

Ahead of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's scheduled interrogation by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with the National Herald case, the party on Monday asserted that its leaders cannot be cowed down by police force and will continue with the proposed Satyagrah march.


Security bolstered around ED office

Security around the Enforcement Directorate (ED) office here has been beefed up ahead of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's scheduled appearance on Monday for questioning in the National Herald case. Paramilitary forces have been deployed around the ED office in Pravartan Bhawan, APJ Abdul Kalam Road in Lutyens Zone as a precautionary measure.


Delhi Traffic Police advise people to avoid some roads

The Delhi Traffic Police on Monday issued an advisory for residents of the national capital asking them to avoid certain roads in wake of the proposed march that will be carried out by the Congress party from its headquarters to the Enforcement Directorate (ED) office where senior leader Rahul Gandhi is scheduled to appear.


“Why undeclared emergency in Delhi, what is cowardly Govt afraid of?” asks Congress

The Congress on Monday said the government has clamped an undeclared emergency in Delhi and had arrested many of its leaders beginning last night to prevent leaders from marching to the ED office where Rahul Gandhi will go today to answer summons in the National Herald money laundering case.

Congress whip in Lok Sabha Manickam Tagore took to a Twitter to say that, "We plan to march with our leader @RahulGandhi .. come if you r in Delhi, let's march to ED office from our party office 24, Akbar Road."

"We know @DelhiPolice will be in full strength not to allow us to our party office then they won't allow as us to March against the injustice,Let's show Shah & Gang that we are Gandhi follower's we will do it in a peaceful way .



"We are ready to face the 2.0 version of Hitler-Goebbels police who want to stop us from reaching party office. I will join," he said using hashtag "#BJP_Vendetta_Exposed".
