Holi's Action: Farmers collect Tikri |
Jhajjar : Protesting farmers at the Tikri border on Sunday celebrated Holi, although it is a different way. They had a clean car in a tent area that was more than eight miles [13 km] wide, from Jakhoda turn to Tikri. Farmers also decorated a large protest area with balloons.
“We are keeping Tikri for four months. It is our home until three farm rules are removed. In that way we cleaned up the site and prayed that the center would come to its senses and accept what we want, ”said Gurbachan Singh, a Mansa farmer.
He pointed out that despite repeated requests, local authorities were unable to remove garbage from the area.

BKU leader Purushhotam Singh Gill said the government had said farmers would return home by Holi. "We have made a promise not to move an inch until our demands are met," Gill said.
Terminder Singh, another farmer, said: “Until we are here, we will celebrate all the festivals in harmony and brotherhood. As the tradition goes, people burn indifference to ‘Holika dahan’. Today we also burned copies of the three farm rules to register our protest. ”
