Four militants fired shots at J-K's Shopian security forces

Srinagar : Four unidentified drivers were killed when they met security forces on Monday in the Shopian district in Jammu and Kashmir, police said.

Security forces launched a search operation in the Manihal area at midnight following information about the presence of soldiers, a police official said.

He said a gunshot was fired a few hours after soldiers opened fire on a retaliatory force.

Security forces called for the soldiers to surrender but refused, the official said.

During the blaze, four soldiers were killed and the official said more details were still needed. PTI
