Ludhiana  : The parking contractor was one of two people arrested by the police for operating a gang. Police found 16 luxury cars in his possession.

The arrested suspects are identified as Amanpreet Singh of Dugri and a parking contractor, known as Micky Sahni, who lives in Sector 32-A, Chandigarh.

Police Commissioner (CP), Rakesh Agrawal, DCP SPS Dhindsa and ADCP (Crime) Rupinder Kaur Bhatti addressed a media briefing on the arrest of car thieves here today.

Recently, police launched a crackdown on gangs in countries involved in car theft, the CP said. At the time, police arrested a parking contractor and one of his assistants, the CP said. The gang used to steal luxury cars, which they parked in the parking lot, the CP said. After finding customers, the gang handed over the stolen cars from the parking lot, CP said.

“Usually the police do not inspect the parking lots. After the booth broke out, police raided parking lots and recovered luxury cars, which had been stolen by gangs. The group could also sell many stolen cars after preparing counterfeit papers. Further investigations will be conducted to find all the roads, ”said CP.

Police will not allow any parking space if it is operating illegally or without official permission from the Municipality, the CP added.

"Police have also launched an investigation into such parking spaces, which are used for illegal purposes," CP said.
