Ludhiana : Finally, the Ludhiana police have bowed to the pressure of the Amar Shaheed Sukhdev Welfare Society and registered a case against Punjabi singer Jassi Jasraj.
A case under Section 294 (obscene acts and songs) of the IPC was registered against the singer at the Police Division 8. Members of the society expressed satisfaction over the registration of the FIR against the singer and they termed it as their victory as they had been holding protests against the singer for the past few days.
The society, which had been demanding action against the singer for speaking ill about martyr Shaheed Bhagat Singh. was observing a hunger strike against him.
They had also burnt an effigy of Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh.

Vishal Nayyar, president of the organisation, who is also the grandson of the martyr Sukhdev Singh, said the singer had spoken against martyr Bhagat Singh due to which he had filed a complaint against him.
Vishal said earlier, a formal complaint was also submitted to the Police Commissioner for registering a case against the singer but no action was taken. But now, the city police have registered a case. Hopefully, the court would give strict punishment to him for insulting the martyr.
