Ludhiana : Two bike-borne miscreants shot at a 26-year-old youngster at the Thapar Colony area in Haibowal today. The seriously injured victim, Saurav Sharma, was rushed to Dayanand Medical College and Hospital.
One of the suspects opened fire at Sharma when he along with his friend had returned from a gym.
According to victim’s friend Parshant Tiwari, they were outside Sharma’s home when two bike-borne miscreants arrived and asked the latter to come with them. When Sharma refused to go with them, one of the miscreants opened fire at him from a close range. As a bullet hit in his stomach, Sharma fell down.

Victim’s friend then raised an alarm and Sharma was rushed to the hospital. After getting information about crime, the police reached the spot and started investigation into the matter. The police suspect personal enmity behind the crime.
The Haibowal Station House Officer (SHO), Jaskanwaljit Singh, said the suspects had asked Sharma to sit with them on bike, but when he refused, they shot at him. The victim will undergo surgery at the hospital, the SHO added.
The police said investigation was on and the suspects would be arrested soon. The police are scanning footage of the CCTV cameras in the area to identify the suspects.
