Chandigarh : Kangana Ranaut's comments on the farmers' protests on the three agriculture Bills passed by Lok Sabha has drawn severe backlash.
In a tweet on Sunday, the actress had termed the protestors as "the same terrorists who indulged in bloodshed even as no citizen lost citizenship due to CAA" as she re-tweeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
(The Prime Minister can be woken up by someone who is sleeping, which can be explained by misunderstanding, but what will be the difference between you and anyone who does the act of sleeping, acting of mindlessness? These are the same terrorists, not a single person has gone to the citizenship from CAA but they have shed blood rivers), the actress wrote in Hindi.
In response to this, several farmers on Tuesday in Amritsar took to the streets to burn effigies of Kangana.

Sharing pictures of the protest on the microblogging website, Punjab Congress wrote: "Under the leadership of @AkshaySharmaOrg, @NSUIPunjab burnt the effigies of Kangana Ranaut at Amritsar. They further criticised her for crossing all limits by disrespecting the farmers by labelling them terrorists. #IRejectAntiFarmerAct #KisanVirodhiNarendraModi."
The 'Manikarnika' actor reacted to the same on Wednesday morning.
"First congress in Maharashtra threatened me and beat my posters with chappals now congress in Punjab burning my effigies, seems like a clear case of mistaken identity. Am I some minister or a great opposition leader? Who they think I am? This is rather flattering @INCIndia," read the actor's tweet.
