Srinagar : A Special Police Officer of J&K Police and two CRPF men were killed in a militant attack in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Monday morning, police said.


The attack came days after militants struck in broad daylight and killed two cops at busy Nowgam on the outskirts of Srinagar.


The latest attack was carried out by militants on a joint party of police and CRPF at Kreeri in Baramulla.


“An SPO and two CRPF men were injured in the attack. Later, the three succumbed to their injuries,” a police officer said.


Security forces have cordoned off the area to nab the attackers.

On Friday, militants had fired indiscriminately on policemen deployed on security duty at a lane in Nowgam bypass leaving two cops dead and another injured. Police had blamed Jaish-e-Mohammad for the Nowgam attack.


The CRPF men have been identified as Khurshid Khan, 41, a resident of Rohtas in Bihar, and Sharma Lavkush Sudarshan, 27, of Jehanabad in Bihar.
