New Delhi : Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan is stable with mild symptoms and is currently admitted in the isolation unit at Nanavati Super Speciality Hospital, Mumbai, said in a statement today. Amitabh Bachchan and son Abhishek Bachchan who were on Saturday admitted to a city hospital after testing positive for COVID-19 have undergone rapid antigen testing, Maharashtra Health Minister Rajesh Tope said on Saturday. Amitabh Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan are admitted to Mumbai's Nanavati Hospital.
Mr Tope said that the test results of other members of the Bachchan family including Jaya Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who were also tested for novel coronavirus will be out on Sunday.
"I have tested CoviD positive .. shifted to Hospital .. hospital informing authorities .. family and staff undergone tests , results awaited .. All that have been in close proximity to me in the last 10 days are requested to please get themselves tested !t," Amitabh Bachchan tweeted.
With a record single-day increase of 27,114 cases, India's COVID-19 tally zoomed past the eight-lakh mark on Saturday, just four days after crossing the seven-lakh post, according to the Union Health ministry data. The total coronavirus caseload in the country surged to 8,20,916 on Saturday while the number of deaths reached to 22,123 with 519 people succumbing to the disease in 24 hours, the updated data at 8 am showed.
This was the eighth consecutive day that COVID-19 cases in the country increased by more than 22,000. The rise in the number of coronavirus cases has gained pace significantly. It took 110 days for the number of cases in the country to reach one lakh but just 53 days more to race past the eight-lakh mark.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday appreciated the efforts of the Centre, state and the local authorities in containing the COVID-19 situation in Delhi, and directed that a similar approach be replicated in checking the pandemic in the entire NCR area.
"Priority is close monitoring and guiding the containment works in regions where the infection rate is high," the prime minister wrote on Twitter after holding a review meeting to take stock of the COVID-19 situation in various parts of the country and the preparedness of various states.

TPCC working president requests Union Health Minister to visit, review COVID-19 situation Telangana
Former MP Karimnagar and TPCC working President Ponnam Prabhakar has written to Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan requesting him to visit Hyderabad to review the COVID-19 cases.
In his letter to Union Health Minister, Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) working president Ponnam Prabhakar on Sunday alleged that the State government had failed to curtail the spread of the deadly virus and provide central assistance accordingly.
"Telangana state government had failed to curtail the spread of the deadly virus because of its inefficiency and lethargy. The State government had failed to curb the spread of the virus which had affected the frontline warriors'' medical fraternity, police personnel, media personnel and others. The medical personnel treating the patients at Gandhi hospital were denied PPE kits also." he wrote in the letter.

658 new COVID-19 cases in Haryana, tally at 21,240
Haryana on Sunday reported 658 new cases of COVID-19 on Sunday, taking the state's coronavirus tally to 21,240.
According to the state's health department, the total figure includes 15,983 recoveries and 4,965 active cases.
The state's COVID-19 number of deaths now stands at 301.

Vande Bharat Flight repatriates 175 Indians from Kuwait
A special flight under Vande Bharat Mission brought back 175 Indian stranded in Kuwait to Chandigarh.
GoAir Flight No. G8 7320 carrying Indians from Kuwait landed at Chandigarh International Airport on Sunday. The flight with 175 passengers arrived at Chandigarh at 1940 hours.
All repatriated persons, who mostly belong to different parts of Punjab and nearby states, will reach their districts under the supervision of the respective State Government representatives where they will be quarantined as per Government guidelines.

4,244 fresh COVID cases, 68 deaths reported in Tamil Nadu
With 4,244 fresh COVID-19 cases and 68 deaths reported the last 24 hours, Tamil Nadu''s COVID count now stands 1,38,470 cases, informed the state''s health department on Sunday.
The total figure includes 46,969 active cases and 89,532 recoveries.
1,966 fatalities have been reported from the state so far.

COVID-19: 735 new cases reported in Assam, tally rises to 16,806
Four more COVID-19 patients have died and 735 new cases pushed the tally in Assam to 16,806 on Sunday, Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said.
A total of 41 COVID-19 patients have died in the state so far. But the fresh deaths will be officially added to the state''s coronavirus toll, which is now 36, only after the Death Audit Board ascertains whether the "underlying cause of death is COVID-19", he said.
"The Assam government has constituted a four-member Death Audit Board for #COVID19 in accordance with @ICMRDELHI guidelines. Officially a death will be attributed to #Covid_19 only after the Board has ascertained it. We shall update our figures accordingly", the minister tweeted.

152 people brought back to MP from UAE in special flight
A total of 152 people, including a child, who were stranded in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for a long time due to COVID-19, returned to Madhya Pradesh on Sunday night, an official said.
Under the Vande Bharat mission, an Air India flight from Sharjah landed here at Devi Ahilyabai Holkar International Airport at 8.40 pm, nodal officer for the prevention of COVID-19 in Indore district, Amit Malakar said.
"A total of 152 passengers, including a child, came back to their home country through this special flight," he said.

Delhi's LNJP hospital likely to start plasma therapy
The Delhi government-run LNJP Hospital is likely to start plasma therapy for coronavirus patients after another state-run GTB Hospital also set the ball rolling to conduct the procedure at the facility, an official said on Sunday.
Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Sunday visited the facility to review the preparedness and also held a meeting with doctors.
He directed them to ensure that patients coming for plasma donation were made to feel "secure" and "safe", and there should be confidence instilled in them about the process.
"Visited LNJP Hospital and met the team to thank for their untiring efforts. Delhi has seen a reassuring decrease in number of new cases in past few weeks. Credit goes to the #CoronaWarriors, doctors & medical teams all over Delhi! #DelhiFightsCorona," Mr Sisodia tweeted.

Pune records highest single-day spike of 1,088 COVID-19 cases
Pune district in Maharashtra recorded the highest single-day spike of 1,088 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, taking the overall count to 38,502, a health official said on Sunday.
The number of deaths has risen by 39 to 1,075, he said. "Of the 1,088 fresh cases, 559 cases were reported from the limits of the Pune Municipal Corporation, which now has 27,227 patients.
"Another 320 cases were reported from Pimpri Chinchwad township, which now has 7,515 cases. The number of coronavirus positive cases in rural areas, civil hospital and from areas under the Pune Cantonment Board has risen to 3,707," he said.
A total of 486 patients were discharged from hospitals, the official said.

COVID-19 tally in Nashik crosses 7,000-mark; deaths 332
Nashik district in Maharashtra reported 218 coronavirus positive cases on Sunday, taking its count to 7,002, officials said. The death of 14 more patients took the fatality count to 332, they said.
Of the total number of deceased, 79 were from Malegaon, 169 from areas under the Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC), 70 from other parts of the district, while 14 others from outside the district, who were receiving
treatment. Out of the total 7,002 positive cases, 1,151 came from Malegaon, 4,084 from Nashik city and 1,630 from other parts of the district, an official statement said. The number of recovered patients in the district has reached 4,519, it said.

644 new COVID-19 cases in Rajasthan, 7 deaths
The novel coronavirus tally rose to 24,392 in Rajasthan on Sunday with 644 new cases, while seven more deaths took the toll to 510, the Health Department said.
There are 5,779 active cases of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) and 18,103 people have recovered so far, the department said.
Three out the seven new COVID-19 fatalities were from Nagaur, while there was a death each in Jaipur, Sirohi, Tonk and Udaipur districts, it said.
The highest number of 156 new cases were from Jodhpur, followed by 93 in Alwar, 70 in Pali and 53 in Jaipur.

64 new cases push Noida's COVID-19 tally to 3,410; over 4,100 tests in a day
Uttar Pradesh's Gautam Buddh Nagar on Sunday recorded 64 new patients of COVID-19 which pushed its tally of cases to 3,410, the highest for any district in the state so far, official data showed.
The district has so far recorded 33 deaths linked to the novel coronavirus, it added.
The number of active cases, however, came down to 893 from 918 on Saturday as 88 more patients got discharged after recovery, according to the data released by the Uttar Pradesh Health Department for a 24-hour period.
So far, 2,484 COVID-19 patients have got discharged in the district, the data showed.
The recovery rate rose to 72.84 per cent, up from 71.58 per cent on Saturday, according to official statistics.
District Magistrate Suhas LY said a special testing drive was conducted in "mission mode" across Gautam Buddh Nagar on Sunday and a total of 4,177 tests done.

879 COVID-19 cases, 13 deaths reported in Gujarat
A total of 879 COVID-19 cases and 13 deaths were reported in Gujarat in the last 24 hours.
According to the state's health department, Gujarat now has a total of 41,906 positive cases, including 10,661 active cases and 2,047 deaths.
India's count of coronavirus cases on Sunday reached 8,49,553 cases while the death toll due to the disease stood at 22,674.

Chandigarh's COVID-19 tally reaches 559
Ten more people tested positive for coronavirus in Chandigarh on Sunday, taking the tally to 559 in the union territory, according to a medical bulletin.
Four members of a family were found infected at Sector 45, while two members of another family tested positive for the disease at Sector 21, it said.
Sector 32, Sector 19, Sector 63 and Sector 7 reported one case each, the bulletin said.
Four patients were discharged on Sunday after they recovered from the infection. So far, 417 people have been cured of the disease, it said.

91 Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams employees test positive for COVID-19
Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Executive Officer Anil Kumar Singhal held "Dial your EO" program at TTD administrative building conference hall wherein the EO addressed the devotees and media and informed that 91 TTD employees have tested positive for COVID-19 to date.
He said: "Corona tests are conducted for 1865 TTD employees at Tirumala, 1704 TTD employees at Aliiri, and for 631 devotees till July 10. 91 of TTD employees at Tirumala are detected corona positive. A special menu is made available at employees'' canteen for the sake of employees'' health."
"None of the devotees have any health issues. We have been enquiring over the phone with the devotees after their return to houses. We called 700 devotees between June 18 to 24 and called 1,943 devotees between July 1 to 7. All of them replied that they are healthy," he added.

4 more die of COVID-19 in Haryana, 658 new cases push total infections to 21,240
Haryana on Sunday reported four more coronavirus deaths as 658 fresh cases took the caseload in the state to 21,240.
Two fatalities were reported from Sonipat, while one death each was reported from Nuh and the hardest-hit Gurgaon district, according to the state health department''s daily bulletin.
The state's COVID-19 death count has risen to 301, it said.
Some of the districts which reported fresh cases were Faridabad (222), Gurgaon (112), Sonipat (101), Palwal (35), Rohtak (26) and Karnal (25) among others, the bulletin said.

Goa: 85 new COVID-19 cases, 2 deaths today
Goa reported 85 COVID-19 cases and two deaths on Sunday, taking the infection count to 2,453 and the death count to 14, an official said.
An 80-year-old woman and 49-year-old man died in ESI Hospital in Margao, he informed.
Sunday also saw 59 people getting discharged, leaving the state with 952 active cases, he said.

Telangana records 1,269 new COVID-19 cases; Governor tests negative
Telangana continued to witness a surge in COVID-19 cases with 1,269 new infections being reported on Sunday taking the tally in the state to 34,671.
Eight related deaths were reported, raising the death count to 356.
Meanwhile, Telangana Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan, who tested for COVID-19 reported negative.
Twenty-eight police personnel (deployed at Raj Bhavan) tested positive and were sent to isolation immediately, while 10 Raj Bhavan staff and their 10 family members also tested positive.
