Indian Army destroys terror launch pad on LoC 

New Delhi :  In a hard-hitting reply to Pakistan, the Indian Army on Friday carried out a precision operation to destroy terrorist launch pads in Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) in response of the continuous violation of the ceasefire by its Army.


Releasing the aerial footage of the Army destroying the terror launch pads, it said that an ammunition dump of the Pakistan Army had also been destroyed.

The Indian Army further said that the terror launchpad targeted by the troops on Line of Control (LoC) are in the Dudhniyal area of Kel sector which was used by the Pakistan Army to launch five terrorists who had infiltrated in the Keran sector around April 1.

Army sources told news agency ANI that it also had inputs that a new batch of terrorists was getting ready to infiltrate from there. “The five terrorists were killed by the Army Special Forces in fierce combat on April 5 but in the process, we had also lost our five Special Forces operatives,” Army sources said, as reported by ANI.

According to an IANS report, the Indian Army used a battery of artillery guns to target an artillery formation across the LoC that was being used by Pakistan for indiscriminate targeting of defence and civilian facilities in Keran and Tangdhar sectors.

Pakistan has been continuously violating ceasefire in Jammu and Kashmir. For the fifth consecutive day, Pakistani Army on Friday violated ceasefire by shelling mortars. All through the week, Pakistani troops fired small arms and mortar shells along the LoC in Poonch district, the Indian Army said.

“At about 2230 hours tonight, Pak army initiated unprovoked ceasefire violation by firing with small arms and shelling with mortars along LoC in Balakote and Shahpur and sectors in district Poonch,” the Indian Army said.
