Army Chief General MM Naravane: Our personnel, who have not come in contact with any infected person, are being moved back to units. We have already catered for two special trains, from Bengaluru to Jammu and other from Bengaluru to Guwahati.

A driver and a sweeper working with the Health Department have been booked in Uttar Pradesh's Sambhal for allegedly refusing to carry the body of a coronavirus patient, police said today. The driver of a hearse van and the sweeper allegedly refused to bring the body of the COVID-19 patient from Moradabad to Sambhal, SHO Ravindra Pratap Singh said. (PTI)

A 50-year-old coronavirus patient succumbed to the infection in state-run Sassoon Hospital in Pune today morning, taking the toll in Pune district to 48, an official said. The man suffered from pre-existing illnesses and was under treatment for the last two days, he said.

With this, the death count in Pune district, the second worst affected by coronavirus after Mumbai, has gone up to 48, according to health authorities.
