Crisis-hit Yes Bank to resume full banking services from 6 PM today

New Delhi : The scrip rose 49.99 per cent to hit a high of Rs 87.95 on BSENSE -3.51 %.YES Bank CEO-designate Prashant Kumar said there are absolutely no worries on the liquidity front and that complete operational normalcy would be restored from 6 pm on Wednesday.


On March 5, the RBI had imposed a moratorium on the private lender, restricting withdrawals to Rs 50,000 per depositor till April 3, in view of its poor financial health due to bad loans.


"Complete normalcy will be restored. All branches and employees are ready. If there is too much rush of depositors, the bank branches will remain open on weekends as well," Kumar said on Tuesday.

There are reports that the crisis-hit YES Bank might see a heavy withdrawal of deposits by customers as soon as the services resumed.

The private lender has stashed up nearly Rs 30,000 crore in liquidity to meet a surge in withdrawals from depositors as the 13-day moratorium comes to a close Wednesday, said two people familiar with the plans.

Meanwhile, Kumar on Tuesday said that so far only one-third of customers withdrew Rs 50,000 during the moratorium.
